I scanned the EULA; it doesn't seem outrageous.  You can play the game for free or pay a subscription which gives you access to bigger and better things.  Try-before-you-buy, like shareware.  Neat to see that coming back into style...

So tried this out last night, and sure is a lot like Diablo.  The NPCs are funny in their sayings, which adds a lighter touch to the game play.  The purchase part becomes evident after about level 5 where you start to get items that require the pay account level to use.
