Sometimes I Think Before I Type... Sometimes!

Mr. Analog

He took a terrible computer game and made a terrible movie out of it.

Personally, I think we need a 5 year ban on action movies, they're getting REALLY bad on the whole and ultimately not worth watching. I just watched "Bullitt" a few days ago on teevee and even with commercials it was a way better @%&#in' movie than a lot of the crapola that's been streaming out of the industry lately.

What was the last action movie that had a gripping plot, interesting characters, locales and believable stunts? Maybe Saving Private Ryan?

Does the Bourne trilogy count? I enjoyed the first two, and intend to see the third "soon".
<Zapata Prime> I smell Stanley... And he smells good!!!

Melbosa

I liked Live Free or Die Hard, even though the action was way over the top.

Since Saving Private Ryan?  That was 1998, 9 years ago.  In the same genre, I liked Windtalkers and We Were Soldiers, both from 2002.  In a different genre, I really liked District B13 from 2004 and The Italian Job from 2003.

Of course, I didn't go see any of those in the theaters, so I didn't vote with my dollar...
Prayin' for a 20!

Agreed, what modern film needs is a Renaissance.

overly long opening scene for "Postal"

surprisingly, many IMDB'ers are begrudgingly saying not-entirely-negative things about ze film:

"It will probably be his best work to date, if only because it seems to be just as ridiculous as Boll himself." heh.

I was reading the article and came to an abrupt halt when I hit:
Quote[..]religious cult led by Dave Foley[..]

It's true. Dave Foley does act as the bad guy in this movie. And the "soup nazi" Larry Thomas is also present. At least the source material is redonkulous. I can laugh at Postal and just brush off a movie made about Postal.

Then I stopped again when I saw:
Quote[..]we get a long, leisurely shot of a fully nude Foley scratching his reproductive organs[..]
what. WHAT.

Man Uwe Boll is one of the most amazing trolls ever. 10/10 every time.

If you are sure you don't want to be "surprised" by many of the scenes in the film, Youtube has PLENTY of clips (often from the German/Austrian version already semi-released) that show everything from shootout to shootout to explosion to hit-and-run to shootout. And the director himself getting shot in the Bolls, of course. (sounds better than it is)

Someone even put together a video of "all the deaths in Postal" which pretty much gives away the overall storyline, sorta. Also, Foley does the full frontal thing after making it with a couple of cult-chicks, I think I heard. O_O

...as Osama bin Laden. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486640/ shows the complete cast, the "anti-hero" is the little brother from "Titus" so that alone might make it a rental, that was such a great show...

(!) "Don't listen to the haters" (!)

PS: I have no idea what Uwe were trying to say, here, sir...

We had Uwe Boll on our radio show, and I'll tell you what sold me. It was when he told us the immortal words: "Basically, it's about the crotchy doll, which is basically a penis, for children, what has birdflu in the ass"

I laughed so hard I nearly cried, and it made me want to see this film like none before it. I thinK Uwe might have managed to create the single-greatest film I'll ever see that satirizes and heaps irony onto poor taste. A perfect film. Can't wait to see it come out in the UK.
