I didn't bash SM, and I never said he wasn't a good picker. I simply pointed out two things, 1) If SM wasn't already famous, he wouldn't be considered a top picker (though he is very good) 2) SM, IMHO, has unwittingly helped to further the hokey, buffoonery image of the banjo. I didn't say SM was a bufoon, however.

Being reminded of his musical* and physical-comedy talents, and recalling his brilliant portrayl of the "Father of the Bride" (I freakin' LOVE both of the movies, call me a sentimental dad, but I openly admit it, so chut up) -- well, I can almost forgive SM for the "By The Dozen" and "Pink Panther" recent poovies... Almost.
