The titular "Max Barry" is the author of this book ... and he seems to enjoy all the Real Life stories that are practically straight out of his monstermegacorp dystopian novel. Hence the Mountain Dew video game tie in post.

I think this is a USA thing only as I haven't seen it on TV (that's not to say it isn't out there). I'm already sick of the campaigning (and it's not even really going yet).

I wish there was a way to beam Australian politics into American news programmes, entertainment media and (now) advertising and see how they like it.

(I just picked Australia at random, even though their politics is mildly amusing)

Slavery has been outlawed, but if you convince the young-and-gullible generation to take part in a "game", they can become an unpaid member of your marketing team!
