PPS: I think it may be a staged silly April Fools Day joke or something, since frame-by-frame it looks like he jumps before being hit and does a perfect flip... Or maybe that's just me, Mr. Cynical...

A perfect flip wouldn't have him landing with his head first and back second...  And he wouldn't have his arms and legs flailing out like that.  He does try to jump up to get out of the way, but he waited too long and catches his foot on the guy's tube, and that's what makes him spin like that.
