Canadians are some of the most weather-conversant people in the world. We talk about weather more than any other subject.

How true.

They have other styles on the site as well. The background changes on this small one to represent the conditions.

It is a slushy mess out there. There was a significant amount of snow fall out here but they don't have the equipment to deal with it. The main roads are bare now, but there are still mounds of snows and cars on the sides of the roads.

:(

No slush though...

Ha, we have a snow fall warning in effect again. Just got another 10cm it looks like. Seriously none of the locals can drive in snow.

Video footage* or it didn't happen.

* bonus points for it being strangely comical, like in that Futurama episode where they added wacky sound effects to the news item about the oil-covered penguins.

All news replays should be done to the score of "Yakkity Sax" (the Benny Hill music).

But yes, the weather, we have a guest staying with us from LA and man she was just not prepared for Edmonton weather haha.

It was -40 yesterday morning with ice fog when Tonnica and her friend came back from West Ed ha-hah :D

Coldest Day Ever.

I scraped the outside frost off the windows, then by the time I finished scraping the INSIDE windows, the outside was frosted again.  >:(

guy on the radio today: "the low tonight is -20. What are we, in the Bahamas?" ;D

LOL that's one good thing about a deep freeze, -19 seems like half decent weather now...

People can't drive around here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NMnF5KZaZA, sorry no music.

Attached image is my hand showing how deep the snow was on the top of my car.

Now I have seen much more snow in Edmonton, however this is a highly unusual amount for this area. I believe we were only a few cm short of the recorded record snow fall for December.

I drove through that ice fog...  I pointed out the bright object in the sky, and my kids thought it was the moon.  I told them no, that was the sun!

One thing's for sure, when I first started driving yesterday the shocks were very stiff as the shock oil was thick like molasses...  Every bump felt like driving over a Smart car.  After a few minutes it got better, though.
