I like that description.

So what do you guys think of all of this?  Not that this guy is any big shot in the US, but really... really?  Are Americans that ignorant of the world around them?

These guys are Jon Stewart wannabes.  The problem is they don't know what to make fun of and what to leave alone, and they have no apparent sense of taste.

These Americans apparently are, but assuming three hundred million other Americans are ignorant based on these Americans' displayed attitudes is sort of ignorant in itself.  Not even every American on this show displayed ignorance - the reporter in the field tried to change the topic to how many soldiers have died in the Afghanistan conflict (from all countries, not just Canada or the US).

Ultimately, though, the best thing to do is just ignore the hullabaloo.  According to Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms, everyone has the right to say what they want, even if it is somewhat offensive to others (although they're limited by hate-speech legislation).  And according to that same Charter, everyone has the right to completely ignore what someone else says.  And if they're not paid attention to, they'll fade into obscurity, like that woman, what's-her-name, the one that ran in the US's presidential election last year.

Some interesting reading about what kind of equipment the Canadian Forces has, written by an apparent insider and apparent military hardware expert:

http://www.casr.ca/bg-background.htm

I've learned all kinds of new things about our military by spending some time there (like, for instance, that our JTF2 troops get special sidearms and semi-automatic shotguns).

Its been my personal opinion that Fox and their base (ultra right conservatives) really are that stupid and inflammatory.
