So i have been on a course all week and during the breaks the instructor has been playing episodes of "The IT Crowd".

I heard of it before but after sitting through a couple of episodes it really has grown on me and some episodes are hilarious.

Worth checking out..

There are only 3 seasons so far and only 6 episodes a season, so it they go by quickly.

Also, if you like britspoof, somehow I found "Darkplace" as a "related" link on Amazon -- it seems to be along the lines of, what if Stephen King was British and took him not-quite-seriously... (gotta love YT ... omg it's like the 80s with choppy editing horrible continuity and over-acting ... quite simply BRILLIANT STUFF!)

Distribution

Each episode was initially distributed online to UK customers only, in DRM'd Windows Media format. Naturally, a show called "The IT Crowd" attracted attention from code monkeys everywhere, and the DRM was cracked to make the show available via BitTorrent in about five minutes. The DVDs are available on Amazon.com, and the torrents are probably still up today. It is unquestionably worth a watch.

There sure are a lot of tech in-jokes in that show, and yet non-techies still laugh their heads off at the plentiful jokes.

I believe the same goes for "DarkPlace", even the young generation who never suffered through bad 1980s "dramas" or don't like "horror" would get a kick out of this show (which is done by the same people as The IT Crowd, I especially love the DP character played by the guy who is Maurice, typical hard-ass boss who woodenly bellows out orders to the unorthodox hero...) See my above link, if you enjoy The IT Crowd I believe you'll become addicted to DarkPlace instantly. PS: it's more fully enjoyed with headphones; the TwinPeaks-esque musical soundtrack, and especially the disconcerting way they re-record the woman's lines
