Cars are hackable

Have a read through this article: http://www.networkworld.com/news/2010/051410-car-hackers-can-kill-brakes.html.  It discusses how easy it is to hack car computers these days, and that it can be done from a car driving next to you.

To be fair, this does require physically connecting something to the OBD-II diagnostics port located under the dash on the driver's side.  I'm sure as technology advances and such devices get invented and miniaturized, that will become a trivial problem.

Lazybones

Well considering that they are usening things like Bluetooth in ATM and Interac card skimmers it is not far fetched. However having something like that in the car could leave a lot of evidence to trace. If they can do it for bomb parts why not a car hack?

On the other hand if they just reprogram something to fail and leave nothing in the car it could be overlooked by an investigation.
