Now that is fast!

Yeah, that's pretty quick.  I watched the video in the article, and after 15 seconds spool-up it's spitting pages out one per second.  It'll be interesting who Memjet licenses their single-printhead technology to, and if it'll still be as fast, and more importantly, just how expensive these printers will be.

Oh, and of course how much the bloody ink will cost!

Wonder how much ink it takes to prime the print head on that sucker or the cleaning cycle.

Hmm, two years ago they said, "Home printers capable of spitting out a colour page in a second are expected to be released around the world this year, made possible by technology developed by a research firm in Sydney":

That article is January 2009, two years ago.  I still don't see 60ppm Memjet printers.

The idea of having a single printhead simply span the whole piece of paper is a good idea, though.
