That sucked me into watching some more conan clips.. Turns out I finally figured out why I don't like Conan much. It feels clumsily staged. Like a cardboard set from a grade school play. If they showed more of the out takes, and clips like norms on the show, rather than some of their standard bits and gags, I'd watch it more. Like The Late Late Show. Not always funny, but at least its not overly awkward. Or maybe I just like hand pupets?

That was pretty funny though. I came close to just closing the window a couple times, but I stuck it out!

Whether Conan or Craig* I always try to watch the interviews only -- the monologues are of course hit-and-miss, and the sketches are typically lame, and possibly scripted to be that way. But in interviews, sometimes with non-comedy guests, that's where I find the most genius moments, whether offered by the guest or the host.

Kimmel's gags are usually very funny though -- unncessary censorship is always full of win.

*however I recently discovered Mr. Ferguson's "awkward pauses" and omg some of them are brilliant -- especially the Steve Carell one. Check 'em out: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=craig+ferguson+awkward

^ posted 2011.

mentioned in 2007: http://www.negrophonic.com/2007/bjorkdiddygif/

apparently from around 2005.

And here it is, nearly 2013, and it's arguable that now Kanye is the crazier of the two.

Just re-discovered this post and thought I'd comment/bump.
