that snow mountain is huge, no question.

There's one kinda close to that size just north of the "Movies 12" cheap theatres on 50 street just south of 137 ave. Me and the kids took a photo of it about 6 weeks ago, with the theatre building in the shot for comparison. Last week we were there again and it was BIGGER*.

But certainly not 17 stories. wow.

This pile in 2008 Ottawa seems like it was close -- and a lot longer so maybe more volume: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suhoN_jcGGA

*Tom, maybe on Friday when I pick you up, I'll go down that way on the way to Mr. A's and you can see what I mean: http://goo.gl/WZRjA

Yeah, I bet you're missing Edmonton now hahaha

I think this is the most snow we've gotten in 33 years or something?

Yes, I SO miss shoveling my driveway and sidewalk every night. LOL

I have had to shovel twice this year, once for each snow fall..

I wonder if 17 stories puts it in the top 10 tallest structures in Edmonton?

Hmm, Wikipedia tells me no: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Edmonton

Man, if there was a pile as big as Bell tower imagine the toboggan sales!

Imagine the lawsuit if some kid fell off the steep side of a seventeen-story snow pile.  I think 163 feet is about the height of the river valley.  I might be wrong.  According to Wikipedia, Snow Valley has a vertical drop of 131 feet, so this snow pile was taller than the Snow Valley Ski Resort just off the Whitemud.

Haha, that's for sure.

In their defense they'd probably have "a sign" somewhere :D

What's scary is not the amount of snow (worst since 1982 or 1983 they said -- before the March re-snowfall...)

what's scary is that DAY AFTER TOMORROW IS APRIL FIRST and there's still a foot or two of snow pretty much everywhere.

wtf...

At least it's hiding the brown grass and dirt underneath.  Although the snow is starting to look pretty dirty and brown in many places itself.

So all this snow means three things:

1. Farmers are going to complain their crops are under water
2. There's gonna be lots of mosquitoes
3. There's gonna be nice green grass (hopefully)
