wow, there's like 3 updates -- all today -- in the article: http://www.networkworld.com/community/blog/samsung-installs-keylogger-its-laptops

When I last checked it, this morning, the "launched an investigation" blurb was there, BUT the "statement that the finding is false" blurb was not.

still... imo, since this [allegedly false] flagging was as a known logger, "Starlogger", with scary features:
Quote
StarLogger claims it records every keystroke made on the computer, even on password-protected boxes, starting up whenever the computer starts up. The software emails results at intervals to a specified email address and will even include screen captures.

You will probably still want to format it and reinstall to get rid of all the pre-installed crap.

Stewie521

Yea, who wouldn't, I don't know too many people who like keyloggers...

Why would it cost extra to NOT include a Windows license?

That makes no sense...

Oh, I didn't realise you mean't that clean. Yeah, its about $25-50 discount for an OS-less machine.

Now a clean install of windows costs extra, since they get money for installing all the extra junk in the first place, and discounts on the OS instance if they install Office Starter and the like.
