Pretty cool! Did you have to make a redstone circuit for that? And is that all white wool blocks?

I created a variable repeater clock (the B diagram here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/File:Repeater_clocks.png )

I didn't have nearly enough wool so I used a TON of snow.

I think I may need to raid the nether again soon, getting low on glowstone again...

EDIT: I'm glad this was near water because hell if I didn't fall off the top enough times...

The variable repeater clock powers the glowstone lanterns, to get it going I just put down a redstone torch and and then took it away. It cycles in the direction you point the repeaters.

Yeah, when you really get up there you just start having a finger hovering over the shift key all the time.

The worst is cloud level building, never stop there, but sometimes you have to get stuff done and whammo you forget to hold shift and you're falling (hopefully) toward water. I've gotten pretty good at building stuff like this, the main thing is go in with a basic plan and be ready to take a lot of fall damage (potions help this).

I don't recommend underwater building to anyone with free time, it took forever to build each one of those structures and yet... I had to.

I may build more but when I can devote 6 or 7 hours lol

I heard of a nice little short cut. Flatten out the sea floor, then build a platform above the area close to the shape of your structure, then build the structure out of sand or gravel, but one block too small. Then you just remove the base, let the sand/gravel blocks fall, then get under there and start placing the exterior (glass probably?). Then you go and remove the sand, and you can dig in dry air!

That'd be a lot of sand and / or gravel! Well, depending on the size of your structure. How did _you_ do it, Mr. A?

My first instinct would be to build a circular wall to top-of-water level and then take the water out (the way the Dutch do it), but there's no water pump in Minecraft...

Sand, doors, sugar cane, cobblestone and a lot of glass

make the building out of sand and cobble one slice at a time, carefully going over it and either placing doors or sugar cane for air bubbles, connect it to an existing structure and start taking out the sand with a shovel.

A couple of diamond shovels is recommended and only keep on hand equipment you need to build each slice.

No. 1 rule though is DON'T PANIC when you start losing air.

That's LuckyCh4rms' cathedral. Modeled after one he saw in real life on a recent trip. He's been working at it for over a week. I helped! (by supplying sandstone, not by doing any actual work)

I don't know what else he is planning, but I imagine there's gonna be a call for a wood planks of a certain colour.

He also made this small church: http://mc.tomasu.org/#/71/64/203/max/0/0

And he's talked about building a basilica. Apparently those are all different sizes and types of religious buildings.
