Quote...The park features absolutely gigantic Warcraft statues, themed rides, and a cafe in a castle perched at the top of a massive stone staircase. It's in Changzhou, China, it's called Joyland, and Forbes reports that it cost $48 million to build. And it is entirely, audaciously illegal, as a copyright violation.

FrancescaO_O used the Reddit thread to answer questions about the park, which she spent an entire day visiting. It sounds pretty amazing. Rides have a "splendor index" and a "happiness index", which evidently rate how much fun you can expect to have in some obscure way. It has a flying rollercoaster: "Sky Scrapper had the highest g force I have experienced on a roller coaster, you lie on your front (like you are flying) and it has a loop which felt pretty crazy," she said.

Crazy that they did all that without Blizzard's endorsement... smell me a lawsuit... or partnership :P

That's actually from the new race in WoW, the Pandaren, from the latest expansion (aka the "Furry"/"Kung Fu Panda" expansion).

Yeah.  Turns out in the lore and books of WoW, the Pandaren have existed longer in print that even before the script writing for Kung Fu Panda (at least according to what I heard).

Didn't it start as a joke about a Chinese food takeout option? http://www.wowwiki.com/Pandaren_Xpress

You could be right... no idea where the idea came from originally, but I have friends that read the books saying that Pandaren have been around for a long time in the lore.  I should ask them...

That may be so, but the image I linked doesn't just look a bit like "Po" from the KFP franchise ... notice the noodles looping around him, so obviously intended to connect with the Jack Black character. imo.

Agreed, two knockoffs in one BY OUR FORCES COMBINED! lol

Also when it comes to plagiarism it's probably not the best to trust the plagiarists word, but I really couldn't care if Blizzard is trying to cash in on a 5 year old animated film, but still [citation needed] [original research] (and so forth).

The WOW Panda Express April Fools 2008 joke http://www.wowwiki.com/Pandaren_Xpress predates Kung Fu Panada (2008) by 3 years. Maybe they decided to revisit the idea because of the movie, who knows.

^ the Panda in the image above* has a face shape that looks more like Tony The Tiger (or Fred Flintstone) than it does Po from KFP.

The one in this image --> http://i.imgur.com/quJO4h.jpg --> looks a LOT more like Po than the WoW pandas, plus he appears to be dancing around his bowl of noodles -- and noodles =  a key element of the first movie's plot. Jus' sayin'.

*ditto for most of the pandaren images you find on Google. Very non-Po-like.

It's the head shape.  Pandaren have a defined jawline with ears on the sides of their head, Po has a round head with tiny ears sticking out the top.  Having seen KFP too many times now, I gotta agree with DD that the one at the theme park looks much more like Po from KFP than any Pandaren from the WoW wiki.

You know what the secret ingredient in secret ingredient soup is, don't you?
