My wife comes back tonight and I have to be at the airport at the right time to pick her up, so I was looking for an online tool that would give me real-time flight status.  While doing so, I came across this one: planefinder.net.  Have a click-see if you like, there's over 11,000 planes active on Earth today!

And looks like Madagascar is pretty quiet. Isolated, in fact.

In case of sudden pandemic, I presume...

Part of the reason there's a dead zone is because not all planes transmit the same kind of location data, as explained in the FAQ on that site.  Also, red planes provide more detailed location data than orange planes.

Pretty neat to be able to see what plane is scheduled for what flight path and how much they deviated and all that.

And there's also a ship version: shipfinder.net.

An' yeah, it's almost impossible to get Madagascar infected.  Good thing they have a whole host of their own microbes.

That link went to a Parked Domain style website.

Oops, it's shipfinder.CO, not .net.  Gotta remember to double-check the links I post every time...

Grabbed it when it was free, it is fairly cool for getting current flight info without hanging aroun the screens at the airport.
